Welcome to Modelithics, Inc.
Modelithics is the premier provider of high-precision measurements and models
for microwave/RF design simulation. We have the experience, equipment,
and knowledge to accurately
measure
components and build software
models
that enable popular circuit simulation tools to generate
more accurate predictions of as-built performance. Simply put, you will
move from concept to product faster with Modelilthics models
Better simulations mean faster development
A high-frequency digital, RF, or hybrid design can require dozens
of design iterations, as a variety of real-world interactions, resonances,
and oscillations are first discovered and then painstakingly tuned
out. But when the complex characteristics of each component are
accurately modeled, the result is a far more accurate simulation
that gets you close to your final design the very first time you
simulate it. As a result, you'll complete designs faster and get
new products to market sooner. Eliminating even one design turn
can save your team the cost of a complete Modelithics library of
component models.
Building your own models?
Many large design groups develop their own component models.
But the process of building accurate models demands skill and discipline,
depleting the engineering resources needed to perform new product
design. At Modelithics, we divide the cost of model development
over our entire customer base. You receive dozens of Global
Models representing thousands of off-the-shelf components,
all for less than the cost of developing just one or two of your
own models. Each measurement-based model is scalable over a wide
variety of substrate materials and ready to use today, complete
with a detailed data sheet.

APP NOTE: 036 - Effect of Over-molding on Surface Mount Capacitors and Inductor:
This app note discusses the effects of over-molding, or encapsulation on the
frequency response of surface mount inductors and capacitors. Toko LLV0603-F
0201 inductors, Coilcraft 0402cs 0402 inductors, Murata GRP1555c1h 0402 capacitors
and Murata GRP0335C1E 0201 capacitors. S-parameter measurements were made on 5
and 31 mil-thick FR4 test fixtures with and without Loctite FP4460 coating.
Since the addition of the coating increases parasitic capacitance it manifests as
a down-ward shift in the resonant frequency of the components. The effect of the
coating is significantly more pronounced on the thicker substrate.
